Despite having no money, I always wanted to look my best. It was difficult sometimes, as often you would have no material to use for the purpose of dressmaking. One of my favourite dresses was made out of an old blanket my husband brought back from France- it had a beautiful embroidered pattern on it. I was very happy to see some of these old items and photograph my old clothese for future generations to use.
