As a stay at home mum, I spent most of my time cooking and cleaning. The children were very young when the war ended- I was only 21, so had my work cut out for me! Some of the objects Aysha showed us reminded me of that time of austerity- we were not poor, but we had to make sure that everything lasted a long time!
